Butterfly in His Sky

One month ago today, I lost someone I love very much. She was absolutely beautiful inside and out. We had a connection that was special and unfortunately it was short lived. I never lost a loved one before who I was close to even though we didn't have our close friendship for more than a year, what we had was blessed by God and in return it was powerful and fruitful. I have had friendships that are beautiful friendships, but the friendships where the Lord has been in them and has blessed them are the most powerful ones.  I have found that when you lose someone you love, you lose a part of yourself and through Jesus you gain strength to discover a deeper part of yourself that has been hidden.

Jennifer, my dear friend and sister-in-law, loved butterflies.  She loved the Lord too and desired for all who she came into contact with would experience a personal relationship with Him, because she knew that if you have that relationship with Him then you have all that matters. I pray that this blog that I am writing isn't just words, but something greater. It is meant to honor her life and who she served, our Heavenly Father. Each time I see a butterfly I am reminded of her and of who she was. She is now with Jesus and I will see her again one day, but until that day comes this site will help me feel close to her. Her life reminds me of a butterfly's life. Richard Bach wrote, "What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly." That is such a powerful concept and truth. Jennifer's life with us on earth has come to an end. I compare her time here to the life of a caterpillar in its cocoon awaiting to become the beautiful butterfly it was destined to be. Her time in the cocoon has come to its end for she is now the butterfly in His sky.
